Who we are

We are a network of individuals, businesses and manufacturers who share a common interest in raising and maintaining the skill levels of people who work within the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry.

The NTG was formed to help raise the skill levels in all sectors of the industry.

“The NTG will recognise and align the skills and development needs of the industry to improve training opportunities and encourage individuals to choose KBB as a career”

Formed in 2004, we were the first co-ordinated body of its type.

The group was initially founded by representatives from the Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom industry who collectively understood the need for addressing the skills shortfall issue within the sector by setting standards, developing qualifications and facilitating industry specific training and education programs focused on up-skilling the existing workforce through continuing professional development (CPD) learning as well as establish career paths for new entrants into the industry.

What we do

As a group we work closely with all sectors of the industry from associations, manufacturers, contractors, retailers and training bodies to set and agree performance standards for the industry, develop and co-ordinate in partnership with organisations the design and implementation of a portfolio of courses and accredited training, devised to raise standards and expand the skill base for all individuals working within the sector. We continue to work with Sector Skills Councils and by being part of various steering groups, the NTG is making sure that the KBB industry and the employers are represented.

Since its formation the group has made immense strides in carrying out Occupational mapping of the KBB sector, Industry specific National Occupational Standards have been revised and developed where needed, qualifications have been written, awarded and been delivered to name a few. With the foundations in place the group continues to push ahead, grow and champion training for the Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom industry.
